In his role as the Director of Golf at The Boca Raton, Craig Corcoran brings nearly two decades of experience in golf operations at luxury properties, instruction, and club leadership to one of Florida’s most storied clubs.

 

Corcoran’s path to golf has not always been a straight line. After two years playing college baseball, a shoulder injury derailed any future in this sport and pushed him to reconsider his path. He turned to a future that had always intrigued him: golf. Corcoran enrolled at Eastern Kentucky University, where he went through the PGA Professional Golf Management program and eventually served as president of the program. “I wanted to fine-tune my understanding and appreciation of the business side of golf,” he says of that period.

 

From there, Corcoran built his career through a series of progressively senior roles at some of the country’s most prestigious private clubs, including French Lick Resort, Louisville Country Club, Fox Chapel Golf Club, Seminole Golf Club, Sankaty Head Golf Club, and Roaring Fork Club. He was later appointed Head Golf Professional at Old Palm Golf Club before most recently serving as Director of Golf at Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Coral Gables, Florida.

 

Throughout his career, Corcoran has earned a reputation for strong leadership and a commitment to mentoring others. Reflecting on that aspect of his career, he says, “It gives purpose to what I’m doing.”

 

At The Boca Raton, Corcoran is focused on the member and guest experience above all else. He often compares it to childhood trips to Disney World: “You might not remember everything about your trip to Disney, but years later you will always remember how you feel. Same with golf. You might not remember who your golf pro was, but you’ll remember how you enjoyed your experience on the course.”
